Aayla and Raquel

dog rescue puerto rico
Satos "Aayla" and "Raquel" have become the very best of friends. Satos do great in twos. . . . . . twice the fun, twice the love. Someone to chew your bone next to, someone to pull up your dog bed next to....Aayla and Raquel were adopted from the Sterling Animal Shelter in Sterling, MA.

Abbie

dog rescue puerto rico

Abbie was in the shelter when she "picked" her new mom. Abbie reached her paw out through the bars and started licking the air like crazy, just to get her new mom's attention. It worked! And Abbie went home. Her first mission was to cheer up her new family, including a canine brother named Oscar, who had just lost their 12-year-old lab mix. Her second mission was to gain some weight. She has succeeded beautifully in both areas...Shy at first, she is now super affectionate and perhaps a bit spoiled, as she deserves. For instance, she likes to make sure that her clothes and blankets are squeaky clean.

Abby

dog rescue puerto rico
This little sweetheart is Nenita--now Abby or Abby Dabby Doo--who was brought to Save a Sato by a student who found her abandoned at a university in San Juan. Abby is totally deaf. And, even when she made it to the Danbury Animal Welfare Society in Danbury, Conn., many people passed her by, not wanting to take on the added challenges of dealing with her disability. Then along came Lora Boynton. It was love at first sight....but Abby had a few tricks up her sleeve. She may be deaf, but she wasn't quiet. She liked to run around the house like a tornado and leave a wave of destruction for Lora to clean up....she lunged at cars...ignored her hand signals...but Lora never gave up and it's a good thing because Abby has turned into a true blessing who has taught her "mom" how to love--and forgive --unconditionally.

Addie

dog rescue puerto rico
Sato Addie is doing GREAT with her new family and now lives in Worcester, Mass. Everyone who meets her comments on how adorable and loveable she is. She is also smart and obedient and has a great time playing with her canine brother, Morgan. Among her favorite things are long walks on the beach in Maine, romping in the snow, and curling up on someone's lap after a long day. Addie was adopted from the Animal Shelter in Sterling, Mass.

Adella

dog rescue puerto rico
Adella hadn't even been in her new forever home 24 hours when she spied a comfy spot on the couch next to her new mom and crawled up for a nap. Clearly, she knew a good thing when she saw it....now she has both a feline and a canine sibling who are her very best buddies, 40 acres of land to run around on, and a mom who works from home so they can be together every second. Life is good!

Alby

dog rescue puerto rico
Sato Alby (in front) has lots of room to run and play with her two canine sisters and two feline brothers in a great big house with a fenced yard
in Ipswich, Mass. And even though her dog sisters each weigh about 80 pounds, Alby is not afraid to hold her own and is very independent. She is also very affectionate and loves to sit on her mom's lap and cuddle. Alby was adopted from the Animal Shelter in Sterling, Mass.

Alice

Alina

dog rescue puerto rico
Sato Alina has learned lots very quickly, but she can be a little stubborn. When she is corrected, she frowns her forehead and looks at you as if to say "What's wrong? Are you talking to me?" Alina plays like crazy, sleeps in her mom's arms, and even snores sometimes. She also gives gentle love bites to let her mom know when she has to go outside. Alina is very street smart and actually steals everything she can from her new canine brother Bobo. Alina was adopted from Cape Ann Animal Aid in Gloucester, Mass.

Alvin

dog rescue puerto rico

Alvin may look little, but he's growing by leaps and bounds. He gained one pound in a week! Now he tips the scales at 11 pounds. Alvin lives the good life in New York State where it's getting a little chilly. As temperatures began dipping into the 40s, he started to shiver. That's what happens when you're born in the tropics. But, his mom has already gone out and bought him his very own hoodie sweatshirt., so we know he'll be nice and warm this winter.

Amber

dog rescue puerto rico

At a whopping 7 pounds, Amber thinks she's a guard dog and loves to bark at new things and act tough. She was adopted from the Danbury Animal Welfare Society in Bethel, Conn.

Antonio

dog rescue puerto rico
Sato Antonio weighed only 16.6 pounds when he was taken to the vet for his initial shots. One month later, he had gained ten pounds! Antonio (Tony) is great with his new family and feels very comfortable and secure. He's still shy around other people, but that will change. His family is moving into a bigger house with a huge fenced-in yard just so he can stay safe and comfortable.

Apollo

Autumn

dog rescue puerto rico
Sato Autumn is a very special little dog. She has a natural instinct to cure any harm or injury to her family. Whenever someone gets a " boo boo," Autumn is right there, sensing something is wrong and giving doggy kisses to make it better. Her family says Autumn is NOT a dog, but an Angel with fur. Autumn was adopted from the Animal Shelter in Sterling, MA.

Bailey

dog rescue puerto rico
Sato Bailey was adopted from the Animal Shelter in Sterling, Mass. She adores everyone in her new family and they love her right back. They say that Bailey is one of the best things that has happened to them.

Bailey

dog rescue puerto rico

Bailey the Beagle was adopted through Tall Tales Beagle Rescue in Maine. He arrived not long after a Beagle stunned the dog world by winning the coveted Westminster Dog Show. The New England Cable Network did a follow-up story on the joys and quirks of the breed and took some great footage of Bailey as he chewed casually on a chair leg. The segment aired around the Northeast. His celebrity on the rise, Bailey soon ended up in a great home in Mass., where he gets plenty of walks and lots of time to play ball. Fortunately, fame hasn't gone to his head....

Bailey

When a beloved furry family member went to the Rainbow Bridge at age 13, both Cosmo and his family were heartbroken. They felt a huge void in their hearts with her loss. After much thought, they decided to visit Broward County Humane Society, where their hearts were immediately stolen by Bailey formerly Rachel. Bailey is filling that void and healing their hearts. She adds excitement and joy to their house. You can see the instant love between Cosmo & Bailey. Congrats to Cosmo on his new Baby Sister!

Baron was adopted from the Northeast Animal Shelter in Salem, Mass.

Bella

dog rescue puerto rico
Bella was adopted from the Animal Shelter in Sterling, Mass. and is known for being sweet to all humans and their dogs. She LOVES children especially, because they have the same energy, happiness, and silliness that she has. Bella's new mom describes her as the best friend she could ever want.

Bella

dog rescue puerto rico
Sato Bella loves children, running figure 8s, chasing birds, car rides in the convertible, bumblebees, and sleeping in mom and dad's bed. She spends about half the day on her back, with all four legs in the air, just waiting for someone to scratch her belly. She isn't too fond of
swimming, getting a bath or having her nails clipped, though. Bella was adopted from Buddy Dog in Sudbury, MA.

Bella

dog rescue puerto rico
Bella now lives in Connecticut where she is a much loved family member. Her parents say that she is the very best dog that either of them has ever owned. Bella must have had something bad happen to her in Puerto Rico as she has a long black scar on the inside of her left leg. But, fortunately, she will never have to worry about being hurt again.

Bella

Take a look at Bella's expression and it's pretty evident how content she is in her new family, which includes three beautiful human sisters, and a 12-year-old Rottweiler. What bliss! She also gets to run around in a four-acre yard complete with a stream where she can splash around and cool off. Her human sisters are also experts at belly rubs. This must be heaven!
