Back in October, we adopted little Tommy, a Gato from Puerto Rico. He is doing really well, and I wanted you to know about his new home. He loves to play, eat and purr! He is a very affectionate cat, and loves his big brother, Angus. They play and wrestle, and have a lot of fun. I have attached a picture of him in a quiet moment.Thank you so much for saving him -- he is very loved!!

Titan
Sunday, 07 March 2010
Six years ago we adopted our dog Titan from DAWS in Danbury, CT. We were told he was found on the streets of Puerto Rico, battled Parvovirus, and was lucky to have survived. Even though he only lived in Puerto Rico for the very beginning of his life Titan was frightened of everything, especially new people, and sometimes he is still timid of strangers at first, but is in love with his family and would do anything to protect us. Titan is a gorgeous energetic dog who loves walks and hiking, and of course lots of loving and treats! Thanks for giving my family and I the opportunity to have such an amazing dog, and thank you for saving him!!

Juno Bella aka Rita was adopted November 21, 2009 from the Pat Brody Shelter in Lunenburg, MA. She has adjusted well to her forever home. She is affectionate, playful and loves to sleep with her face close to mine. I am thankful to all the wonderful people who cared enough to rescue and save Juno Bella so she could be part of my life.
Diabla and Muneca
Sunday, 07 March 2010
In October of 2002 my husband and I adopted these two little characters from Sterling Shelter in Sterling MA. They are both 7 now and enjoying their home in Agawam MA. Muneca is the smaller one and is usually in her own little world. Sometimes we think it's an act because she can also be quite mishevious and a little diva. She also "tells" on her sister when she's doing something she shouldn't be. But they really are the best of friends. Diabla is a handful. She's so smart and totally knows how to manipulate us! She loves treats of all kinds and well, pretty much anything that's edible. She's obsessive about kisses and we have a "morning makeout" every morning. Thank you so much for helping to bring these little girls to us. We can't imagine life without them.
Lady
Monday, 01 March 2010
This is our "Lady" from Northeast Animal Shelter November 2005. We are not sure how we lived without her before then. She weighs approx 8 pounds, and is now almost blind from glaucoma, but still the most happy, and loving, little dog we ever saw.
Rico
Monday, 01 March 2010
Rico was adopted from the Northeast animal shelter by a loving family. He has provided a connection between his new mom and the woman who found him in Puerto Rico. Through emails and letters regarding his progress, a new friendship has been formed. His new family loves this energetic, inquisitive, and lovable puppy who is experiencing snow for the first time.
Izzy

We found her on Luquillo Beach at a kiosk on Oct. 1, 2008. I was in love with her. She was skinny with a big sore on her hip and had a severely bent leg, probably from a break that didn't heal. Her tail never stopped wagging. We only had a few days left to our vacation and I thought I would have to just forget her and get over her but she broke my heart. We got back to Chicago on Oct. 4, 2008 and I started e-mailing Save A Sato and Island Dog. I didn't expect anything but to try, but Sandy Soroka scooped Izzy off the beach, vetted her, and flew her to us on Nov. 5, 2008. She was meant to be mine. She joined me and my husband Tom, and her new sister Sugar in Mundelein, IL. We had surgery done on her leg right away and she healed nicely. It was her 1-year anniversary with us and she is a treasure. Thanks for all you do for the Satos!
Casey
Monday, 02 November 2009
My husband and I adopted Casey (a.k.a. Pancho) from the Bloomfield Bukowski Animal Shelter in New Jersey back in April of 2006. From the notes from that shelter, we learned he was brought to Save-A-Sato by a volunteer who noticed him sitting in front of a house waiting for his owner (whom had moved and left him there) to return. Who would ever leave a dog as cute as him is hard to imagine! Casey was very, very shy when we first adopted him, and would back away from anyone who came into our house or approached him during walks. With a lot of TLC, kind words, and a regular routine, he turned out to be a very loving and obedient dog. We are blessed to have him in our family. I encourage anyone thinking of adopting a dog to please consider "Save-A-Sato." All they ask is for your love and they will return it to you many times over!
Zoe
Thursday, 15 October 2009
Just over a year ago we adopted our Sato Pilar (now Zoe) from North East Animal Shelter in Salem MA. Zoe is intelligent, patient and you can tell that she genuinely appreciates the new life we've given her - she's not our dog... she's a member of our family! Everyone compliments us on how well mannered she is, and how much of a personality she has! She now lives life to the fullest sleeping in our bed, enjoying doggie day care, with her daycare buddies; and has learned to play and enjoy her doggie toys - she really enjoys her squeaky ball and de-fluffing almost every plush toy we give her! You can tell every now and then that she remembers her old life; she's still deathly afraid of the basement and will hoard her food, and try to over eat... but she is a GEM!
